Welcome
A Voice for Change is a site explaining my approach to psychotherapy (or therapy) Counselling and Hypnotherapy in North London and London. My training includes different therapeutic approaches such as Gestalt, Existential,Short Term Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, Rogerian and the more traditional Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy all of which have influenced my personal style of work.
The name A Voice for Change emerged while organising a classical concert to raise funds to help support a counselling training course for refugees at The Minster Centre, north London. The title stayed with me as it touched on how the work we do in therapy and counselling revolves around being able to take the risk of using our voice and the therapist or counsellor being able to actively listen and hear the voice or language in its many different forms (such as the written word, the symbolic, a silence, a gesture or even a look .)
I believe that an essence of therapy is to create and hold a safe, supportive and non-judgemental environment in which the client is able to explore their past experiences while reflecting on current difficulties and possibilities of the future.
I am sensitive to issues of race, gender and sexual orientation.
Only you can do it but you may not be able to do it alone.
